Taniya Khnuja’s collection for WIFW A/W 2010 had two faces, Powerbroker princess and Parisian sorceress – like the ebb and flow of the tide.

The powerbroker line was steadfast and solid with linen jute interspersed with flirty georgettes…a reminder to be in touch with her gentle feminine even as she is in the midst of clinching a power deal or being the protagonist at a power lunch. The no-nonsense cuts say “don’t flirt with me”. The silhouettes were structured with femininity comprising corset doll dress, baby doll dress, corset look jumpsuit, corset with saree. The use of zippers as embellishment was very innovative and was the focus of the collection. She played very creatively with zippers to create very feminine flower detail placed over garment to add more value to her ensemble.

The Parisian temptress was a dangerous Delilah who enchanted in her flowing drapes of vibrant chiffon and seductive silk taffeta that says “flirt with me”. The silhouettes were very free flowy with interesting drapes and bold ombre dye as a focus,  the colour palette ranging from shades of blue to pink and red, blue to green were used in ombre dye. Over all the collection was very appealing.
