Smriti Gupta’s collection at WIFW A/W 2010 was based on the aqueous affair and the show started with an illuminating array of blue light. Her collection talked about the self assured, modern and confident women of today. The designs were smart, beautiful and glamorous soaked in femininity, celebrating grace and elegance.

The colour story dealt in cyan, ultramarine blues, aqua, emerald green and a hints of light green, ivory and Prussian blue. The use of luminous transparent georgettes, lycra, silks, tussar and silk blends captured the ebb and flow of water. Design elements like animated wave digital prints, penalization, asymmetric hemlines and self textured silks were harmonized.

The collection was all about fluid hemlines, bolero jackets, pleated dresses and gowns, trench coats, cigarette pants and tight fitted trousers which were gathered at the bottom. Style lines and details have been highlighted by the use of piping. Metallic rings painted in myriad hues of blue and aqua gave an Indian contemporary feel. Pleats were placed around the neck and shoulder.
