hemaeshaRocky S’s collection at WIFW A/W 2010 exhibited lavishness as the key essence. The ensemble showcased affluent and rich blouses worn with lehengas, the ever graceful saris, modish churidar kurtas and ethnic sherwanis. The collection was inspired from Istanbul and Rajasthan.

Fabrics were flowy silks, georgettes, satins, jacquards, traditional rare brocades, crepes ornamented with embroidered sequins, mukaish, zardozi, gota work, bejewelled with antique gold and exotic broaches peeping through sheer net long entwined drapes.  The ensemble is strewn with flock and block printing with a matt finish. The deep necklines, cap sleeves, slits at side seams on blouses were feminine.

The colour palette was rich and vibrant with radiant colours reminiscent of maroon, burnt orange, rust, peacock blue, sea green, beige, base of grey creating the mood of lavishness. The collection was sparkling with gold and copper embroidery, beads, coloured stones lifting the spirits high.

Show stoppers were the magnificent Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol adding spark to the already lit and cheerful atmosphere.
