reynu tandonReynu Taandon’s WIFW A/W 2010 collection captures the oddities and unconventional eccentricities of the European style. Her collection was presented in luxurious fabrics, vibrant colours and meticulous craftsmanship against a backdrop of the regal game.

The collection was simple yet sophisticated and structured, the cuts were chic comprising short dresses, jump suit, tunic, trousers, shirts, jackets and sarees. The fabrics used are heavy woolen tweed, winter knit, rayon and georgette for the drape.  The colour palette was vibrant, she played with various combinations of cream to black, shading with a touch of mustard in her collection.

The key feature of her collection was digital prints and checks which gave a prefect houndstooth look. Even the sarees were contemporary as they were patchwork sarees teamed with European stylised check blouses cum boleros. She also used shibori print and lots of multicolored embroideries at hem, yoke and necklines. There was a hint of drape in her collection but these were not very voluminous. The drapes used were such that it enhanced the woman’s figure rather than hide it.

The profoundly sophisticated collection was pointedly aggressive and alluring without exception. By using effervescent and embellishments, Taandon has infused life to each ensembles created. The show stopper of her collection was actress Moushumi Chatterjee’s daughter Meghaa Chatterjee who walked down the ramp with style and poise.
