Titled ‘South of the border West of the Sun’, Tanvi Kedia’s WIFW A/W 2010 collection beautifully depicted traditions. The first ensemble, a digital printed kaftan with a printed scarf was followed by a digital printed tunic with patterned sequins. Embroidery was welcomed by the morning audience of design students, retail buyers, designers and media in the MSA.

Jerseys, velvets and silks were the important fabrics for Tanvi’s Autumn Winter line of tunics and dresses. The colour palette moved from black, grey to beige. In between, the splashes of shocking pinks, violets, purples and lime greens were very refreshing. Shoes were all colourful in the range of red, green, orange and yellow with detailing of polychromatic tassles.

A grey tunic with lime green and turquoise embroidery teamed with green chiffon flowey pants was eye-catching. Shaded grey panelled long dress with asymmetric hemline and embroidered placket and cuff, a beige brown shaded flowey long dress with colourful silk detailing were welcomed with a round of applause by the audience. Use of Indian embroideries, vintage textiles in timeless classic silhouettes created a global look in the designer’s autumn winter line.

Detail-oriented, creative use of colours and surface texturisation are perfect words to describe her collection in one line.
